How to Get Rid of Under the Eye Wrinkles

Under the eye wrinkles add up to a person's real age and can be really bothersome. These fine lines denote that a person has a lot of things going on and may lack sleep of some sort. No one would want to project a haggard look and making these lines disappear for good would be worth the time, the money and the effort.

Deep eye wrinkles are caused by a number of factors. Aging is the number one cause of wrinkles and since the skin under the eyes is the thinnest skin in the whole body, it is the most delicate part of the face and the first to get affected. Lack of sleep, stress, smoking, too much sun and dehydration are other known causes of wrinkles and dark circles under the eyes.

Sleep deprivation causes droopiness, black circles under as well as fine lines or crow's feet around the eyes. For a person who lacks sleep, the face has the tendency to appear paler than usual, thus, fine lines become obvious. Make sure to get that much needed rest to prevent unwanted creases as well as dark circles under the eyes.

The sun's ultra violet rays permeating the skin produce free radicals which cause wrinkles and other types of skin blemishes. Make it a habit to wear sunglasses not only when it's sunny but when it's windy as well. This is to protect the delicate skin under the eyes and prevent squinting which also contributes to wrinkling of the skin.

Heavy smoking is also a major contributory factor to skin wrinkling. Smoking damages the skin collagen and promotes water to evaporate from the skin. Smokers also squint a lot while smoking. These facial expressions may leave permanent marks over time.

Dehydration causes the skin to become dry, making it prone to wrinkle formation. The face, among other parts of the body, needs much moisture to keep fresh and hydrated. Drinking enough water and liquid can hydrate the body from the inside and makes the skin moisturized. Moisturizers and other soothing facial creams, on the other hand, lock water in and make the skin healthy and smooth.

Stress should also be kept to a minimum level to keep the skin from damages caused by chemical reactions brought about by tension and trauma. Stress is directly associated to skin's dullness and wrinkling. It always pays to be proactive to avoid unnecessary stress. It would also help to take things lightly and not too seriously so as to avoid any disappointing circumstances taking away the best in us.

There are other known causes and cures for under the eye wrinkles and the list can go on and on. To simplify everything, it only takes to be aware and conscious of the things that need to be avoided as well as the habits that need to be adapted in order to prevent or treat these ugly lines under the eyes.
